Jingmin Liu met Canadian Whistler Mayor
Jingmin Liu, Vice president of Beijing Olympiad Organizing Committee, met Hugh O¡¯Reilly, Canadian Whistler Mayor in the morning of Aug. 15th. Two parties were having very friendly discussion related to environment protection, traffic and technology preparation for Olympiad games in 2008.

Jingmin Liu showed passionate greeting to Mr. O¡¯Reilly¡¯s visit. He said, ¡° Green Olympiad, Technical Olympiad, and Cultural-oriented Olympiad are the three conceptions and objectives proposed by Beijing Olympiad Organizing Committee. In order to adjust the requirements for Olympiad games and City-modernizing development, Beijing has declared a certain number of new regulations in terms of city construction, environment protection, traffic and culture relic protection. We all hope that through the great efforts in the following a few years, we will fully advance the continuous and consistent development in Beijing.¡± Jingmin Liu presented that Beijing is going to hold the most brilliant Olympiad. We need more communication with other cities, which held Olympiad before, in order to obtain valuable experience for preparation and promotion of Olympiad in Beijing 2008.

Mr. O¡¯Reilly introduced the organizing affairs for the Winter Olympiad in 2010. He admired the outstanding preparation for Olympiad and highly valued the great changes happened in Beijing. He claimed that he believed that Beijing would hold the most brilliant Olympiad in history.

Whistler is a satellite city of Ottawa, which has already been selected to hold the Winter Olympiad in 2010.
